AI is already shaping our information, decisions, and even our desires consciously and unconsciously. It’s like handing over the controls of our brain to a GPS that only knows the fastest route, not the most scenic … of course, it’s efficient. It promises us the comforting calm of an algorithmic consensus, like a perfectly curated playlist that never surprises.

The moment we outsource our curiosity to the cold logic of code, we risk leveling the living chaos that makes us human. We replace the “rich mosaic” of thought with pre-chewed grids, safe predictions, and sterile conclusions.

Murat Durmus (Beyond the Algorithm)

The life that is illuminated is chaotic, full of contradictions and dead ends, moments when the “fastest way” leads through the back streets of one’s confusion. True wisdom lurks in these winding paths. If we rely too much on AI, we risk leaving these alleys. We ask less about the “why” and more about the “what’s next?”

Remaining vigilant is a philosophical act of rebellion. It’s a refusal to let an algorithm dictate our desires, akin to a digital Descartes reducing the world to simple binary codes — yes, no; 1, 0; more clicks, fewer clicks. We must resist this algorithmic control and promote our complexity. After all, if the human mind is merely a reflection of its tools, we might as well leave the thinking to the machines — and how dull would that be?

Let’s stay determined to maintain our human complexity.
