The First Chief Critical Thinking Officer (CCTO)
Today, I appointed myself as the world’s first Chief Critical Thinking Officer.
The appointment process was quick. As CEO of AISOMA AG, I looked in the mirror, nodded once, and signed the decree.
This is more than just a joke about titles. It is a protest against the unreflected acceleration of technology. Every company has a CTO. Every company invests in speed, automation, and scaling. But who invests in slowing down, in questioning, in resisting the temptation to “act fast and break things”?
Critical thinking is not an option. It is the last firewall against mistakes, illusions, and hype. Without critical thinking, AI becomes a mirror of our laziness rather than a tool of our intelligence.
“Speed builds empires of sand. Only reflection lays the stones that last.”
That’s why I say: don’t wait. Appoint yourself as the CCTO of your company, your team, and your life. Be the one who refuses to outsource their judgment. Be the one who tirelessly asks:
Why?
Who benefits from this?
What are we overlooking?
We don’t need more leaders. We need more thinkers. If enough of us embrace this title, then “Chief Critical Thinking Officer” will no longer be a novelty, but a necessity.
The world does not need more unreflective AI.
The world needs more CCTOs.
