Trust … The Most Crucial Currency?

“I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.”

According to Nietzsche, we shouldn’t believe in AI anymore ;-). The problem today, however, is that we are no longer even sure who is lying… only that someone somewhere is lying. Trust is no longer a question of virtue, but a matter of convenience. We don’t ask, “Can I trust this?” We ask, “Does this sound convincing enough to retweet?”

AI doesn’t deserve trust, and neither do we. But we give it to it anyway, just as we give a stranger the keys to our house because they seem trustworthy and wise.

How much is trust worth today?

Hmmm… just enough to make us click “Accept” without hesitation?

And just too little to stop us from wondering what we’ve just given away?

“In an age where lies have no faces and truths wear filters, trust is no longer earned, it’s streamed, swiped, and silently sold. We don’t believe because something is true; we believe because it’s convenient.”

But maybe trust is actually becoming less and less important to many people, and they just pretend it’s essential when only asked?

I’m just guessing and thinking out loud …
